2017 NFL Draft Rumors: Cleveland Browns Not Sold On Myles Garrett at No. 1 Overall

By Anthony Blake

There are many possibilities for the Cleveland Browns with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, but the latest rumors about Myles Garrett not being the shoo-in with the selection are strange.

Most still say Garrett is the best player in the draft, but folks throughout the league believe he’s far from a sure thing.

And if it’s a quarterback also in the running, seems obvious who the candidate is.

There were even rumors that Cleveland liked running back Leonard Fournette enough to take him No. 1 overall, so it seems like the most obvious question to ask here is why all of this dissension among people in the Browns’ front office?

The answer is just as apparent: it’s not real.

This time of year, teams put out any and every rumor to try and throw off the other 31 franchises in the draft.

And for Cleveland, as the holders of the top overall pick, the interest to trade down has to be real.

It’d be a dream for them to trade down and still get the players they target, so don’t expect this misinformation to stop until the Browns are no longer on the clock.
