Ravens TE Dennis Pitta Reportedly Dislocates Hip for Third Time in Four Years

By Anthony Blake

After a career year in 2016, hope was high for Baltimore Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta to continue to build on the impressive 86 receptions for 729 yards and two touchdowns he recorded last season.

Well, it may never come to be, as Pitta suffered what is feared to be another dislocated hip – his third such injury in four years – and his career is reportedly in jeopardy.

It’s a real downer when any non-contact injury occurs, but for it to happen in OTAs to a guy who has had bad luck with ailments in the past, it’s just heartbreaking.

Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome weighed in with some somber thoughts of his own on behalf of the organization.

If this really ends Pitta’s NFL career, the offense will have to see plenty of improvement out players like Breshad Perriman and Crockett Gilmore to pick up the slack.
