Anquan Boldin Cites Humanitarian Interests as Reason for Abrupt Retirement

Just two weeks after finally finding work with the Buffalo Bills, veteran wide receiver Anquan Boldin announced his retirement from the NFL.

Arguably the toughest wideout to ever play the game, the 36-year-old compiled one heck of a resume over his 14-year career.

But Boldin has always been drawn to things greater than football, with his humanitarian side likely being the reason behind his abrupt decision to retire.

Though unexpected, the Bills have already fully revamped their receiving corps this offseason via trades and the draft.

Nevertheless, Boldin was listed as their second receiver, so this loss will hurt the team significantly
