Cleveland Browns Cut Joe Haden After Failed Attempts to Trade Veteran CB

By Anthony Blake

After rumors of their attempts to trade the former Pro Bowl cornerback on Tuesday, the Cleveland Browns have decided to move on from Joe Haden.

This makes the 28-year-old now free to find a new team, which is a very rare circumstance for a Pro Bowl-caliber player in his prime at this stage of the NFL season.

Haden was due $11.1 million in base salary this season, with his release costing the Browns just $3.2 million in each of the next two years.

It’s obvious this new regime in Cleveland is all about matching cost with production, so Haden’s bloated contract being kicked to the curb should really be no surprise at this point.
