Patriots Trade Third-String QB Jacoby Brissett to Colts for Speedy WR Phillip Dorsett
It’s been said many times before, but the New England Patriots managed to pull off yet another savvy trade just days before the start of the NFL season.
This deal scores the Pats a speedy wideout in Phillip Dorsett to replace Julian Edelman while only forking over third-string QB Jacoby Brissett to the Indianapolis Colts.
Brissett proved valuable in spot duty last season when Tom Brady was still suspended and Jimmy Garoppolo got hurt, but in an ideal world, he would never even see the field for New England.
Landing Dorsett in this deal gives Brady and the Pats the speed element they’ve lacked offensively for the better part of the past decade.
Bill Belichick just fleeced another team with this swap.
