Colton Orr will not be suspended for his hit on Logan Couture last night. The knee to knee hit knocked Couture down to the ice in serious pain. He eventually got up and limped to the locker room. After that play, neither Couture nor Orr played again. Orr was assessed a two minute minor for kneeing, and the NHL must have thought that was harsh enough. I personally think Orr should have gotten suspended for at least two games. If you remember, Joe Thornton got suspended two games for his hit on David Perron, and some people thought that was a questionable hit to begin with. Orr, who is known throughout the league as a tough guy, but not necessarily a dirty player, got no games for a hit that was worse.
As for Couture, there still haven’t been any updates. We’re all praying for good news, but that may not be the case.
