Flyers Notes: Leino contract, Ray Emery return, Matt Carle and you, Canes up next

By mikesantabarbera

– Still speculation that a deal with Ville Leino will get done soon. Yesterday it was reported that the Flyers have offered Leino two separate deals. Though, Leino hasn’t confirmed the offers, yet.

– Former Flyers goaltender Ray Emery signed a two-way deal with the Anaheim Ducks, but will have to pass through waivers so he can be sent to the AHL. Emery isn’t yet ready to play, recovering from an extensive hip surgery that nearly ended his career.

– The Flyers were reported to have interest in Emery but it’s unlikely they, or any other NHL (even the Isles) team will claim him. Any team that claims Emery will have to keep him on their NHL roster. So, the Flyers are out, not sure how real their interest really was, anyhow.

– Flyers Defensemen Matt Carle, wants to donate $10,000 to the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia, but he needs your help. Carle will donate the money once he gets 10,000 followers on Twitter. So, follow him @MattCarle25

– Flyers return to action Thursday night, when they’ll face the Carolina Hurricanes.
