New York Islanders 27th in New ESPN Power Rankings

By chrisleyden

The newest ESPN.com power rankings came out Monday afternoon and Scott Burnside places the New York Islanders 27th after being 25th last week.

Burnside obviously does not think as high of the Islanders as LeBrun does because the Isles have won four or their last six, yet still dropped.

LeBrun said this about the Islanders:

“The Isles have won four of six and continue to give a terrific effort almost every night. Lots of young kids making an impact, including netminder Al Montoya.”

With not much of the season left any hope of the Islanders getting out of the 20’s have all but diminished, but at least things are looking up for next season.
