Shut-Out in the Desert
The Columbus Blue Jackets visited the 4th seeded Phoenix Coyotes and came out with a loss. Coyotes Goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov had 28 saves recording his 7th shutout of the season.
This was the first time the two teams squared off since their trade made at the trade deadline. Columbus sent defenseman, Rostislav Klesla to phoenix in return for right winger Scottie Upshall and defensman Sami Lepisto.
Young Sami Lepisto looks back on his experience with the coyotes as an amazing chance for him to get noticed and get playing time in the NHL. He got close to 23 minutes of playing time tonight. He also got some time with the top line and on the powerplay. He has grown a lot as a player, considering that 2 years ago he only got to play 7 games up in the NHL for the Washington Capitals.
Columbus will be back home Sunday, March 27th to take on the best of the NHL as they play the Vancouver Canucks. Puck drop 5:00 PM (ET)
