Joffrey Lupul is a Hot Maple Leaf
Joffrey Lupul has been playing extremely well of the month of March after being acquired by the Toronto Maple Leafs on February 9th. The trade consisted of prospect Jake Gardiner and a 4th round pick, with Francois Beachemin heading over to the Anaheim Ducks. One of the reasons why GM Brian Burke traded for Lupul was their friendship and connection they had back in Anaheim. As well as Lupul heart, passion and physicality fits a Brian Burke prototypical player. (Check out Lupul fighting P.K. Subban). As a Leaf Lupul has 8 goals and 16 points in 25 games. In the month of March Lupul has 10 points in 15 games. As of late Lupul has four and seven points in the last six games. Lupul has been a player that has been plague by injuries over his career.
Lupul was a 1st round (7th overall) draft pick by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2002 NHL Draft. Lupul’s best season in the NHL was in his sophomore season with Anaheim, when he potted 28 pucks, 25 assist for 53 points.
