  1. Ray Emery made two jaw-dropping saves last night, it is too bad that the Ducks lost as Emery deserved better.
  2. I think Teemu Selanne will be back next season. He is way too good to retire and I am sure he doesn’t want to go out like this.
  3. The Nick Spaling, Jordin Tootoo, Jerred Smithson line was too much for the Ducks all series long. To be honest I think that was the best forward line the Predators had, and they appeared bigger threats when on the ice than guys like Mike Fisher and Patric Hornqvist.
  4. Shea Weber and Ryan Suter really are the best defense pairing in the NHL. Holding Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf to zero points combined in the last two games only proves that.
  5. Joel Ward is proving my point that he is underrated. How does a five-game point streak in the playoffs sound?
  6. For the most part the Ducks did a good job staying out of the penalty box, but twice in this series the Ducks took a penalty when the net was empty and they were trying to tie the game.
  7. The Ducks powerplay went 8 for 21 in the series. Imagine what could have been if they averaged four or five powerplay’s a game.
  8. Lubomir Visnovsky didn’t look right all series long. He didn’t play bad, but his minutes were down a bit and I noticed he was passing up almost every shooting opportunity he had. That’s normal for most defenseman, but not normal for him. After all, he scored 18 goals during the regular season.
  9. Though Pekka Rinne allowed a weak goal in yesterday’s game, he was very solid and came through with the big saves when the Predators needed them.
  10. The Predators defense is scary good. It is hard to believe that they will be even better in a year or two when Ryan Ellis makes the team.
  11. Lastly, congrats to the Predators and their fans on winning their first series. This is just the first of many to come, enjoy it.

My 3 stars

1. NSH – Nick Spaling – 2 goals, including the game winner

2. ANA – Ray Emery – made several jaw-dropping saves to keep the Ducks in it

3. NSH – Jordin Tootoo – He was a fireball all series long….nothing changed last night.
