Player Review: Ty Wishart
Ty Wishart joined the New York Islanders after being sent over in the trade that shipped Dwayne Roloson down to Tampa Bay.
Wishart split his time between the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and the Islanders, and finished with 20 games played for the NHL club.
In those 20 games Wishart recorded a goal and four assists, and even more impressively finished with a plus five rating.
The 22-year-old may never be as talented as Dwayne Roloson is, but everyone came out a winner in this trade that sent Roloson to a team that is now a game away from the Eastern Conference Finals, and the much younger Wishart to a very young but improving Isles team.
The Islanders have a lot of young star defensemen in the minors around the country, and Wishart will have to fight for one of the select spots. He does have the advantage of playing with the team for a quarter of the season this year and that could give him a step up on the competition.
