Player Review: Travis Hamonic
Travis Hamonic is a young future star in the NHL, and like Andrew MacDonald should be a bright spot with the New York Islanders for the next few seasons.
Hamonic is only 20-years-old and was the Islanders second round pick in 2008.
Similar to Macdonald, Hamonic contributed on the offensive end with five goals and 21 assists. That being said he is also very strong on defense with a plus four rating.
I think a lot of Islander fans didn’t want Hamonic to be called up this season and thought he could use a bit more development time. He proved all those doubters wrong with a great season and I would be shocked if he wasn’t on one of the top two lines to start off next season.
