Blake Comeau had his most successful season in the NHL this past year with the New York Islanders, and will look to build on that success in the upcoming years.
Comeau put in 24 goals and added 22 assists for a career high 46 points. The problem with Comeau is that unlike Grabner and Nielsen, his plus minus was atrocious, sitting at minus 17.
One of the positives of Comeau was that he was pretty much healthy the entire season, missing only five games. On an Islanders team that constantly saw players sitting out, Comeau’s ability to avoid injuries was important.
It will be interesting to see what line the Isles put Comeau on next year, because he has obviously shown the ability to produce a 50 point season, but it seems there are five or six players who are more attractive than him in terms of potential goal scoring.
