Carl Gunnarsson Signs Two Year Contract Extension with the Toronto Maple Leafs
After as season of hopes and promises shown on the ice by the Toronto Maple Leafs. General Manager Brian Burke continues to sign parts that have promise to help grow this Maple Leaf team. James Reimer was this first piece of the puzzle this off season, as he was signed to a 3 year deal a couple days ago. Now Brian Burke has signed defenseman Carl Gunnarsson, who is 23 year old Swedish native. He has been a pleasant surprise for the Maple Leafs since he was drafted in the seventh (194 overall) in the 2007 NHL Draft. Last season Gunnarsson recorded 4 goals and 16 assist for 20 points, along with a -2 +/-.
The other Maple Leaf names which have bigger contract negotiations ahead of them with Brian Burke are Luke Schenn’s, Tyler Bozak’s and Clarke MacArthur’s.
Note – Defenseman Jeff Finger has one more year left on his $3.5 million dollar dreadful contract. I can’t wait til this contract is over.
