It’s been a long night. It’s 2 a.m., and I need to get to bed. And I will have many, many words to write about what the Boston Bruins accomplished tonight, winning the Stanley Cup for the first time in 39 years, the first time in my lifetime, wrapping up an improbable run where they vanquished four formidable teams along the way in the most gut-wrenching fashion imaginable (except for Philadelphia — they took care of business there).
In the meantime, I’ll leave you, dear readers, with a photo. Enjoy, and congratulations to the Bruins, their players and management, and for every fan who’s waited so long for this, whether you grew up watching Bobby Orr, Ray Bourque, Cam Neely, Joe Thornton or Milan Lucic.
Truly, this is for you.
