Toronto Maple Leafs Sign Center Tim Connolly
Well the Toronto Maple Leafs finally sign a center, it may not be the center that will make a sort of impact we are all hoping for, but Tim Connolly will be a greatly appreciated addition to the buds.
A couple hours after Brad Richards choose to sign with the New York Rangers, the Maple Leafs went right after a great passing and face off center man in Connolly. According to TSN this deal is for 2 years at $4.75 million per year.
Through Connolly’s career, he has missed time because of bone spurs, crack vertebrae and broken ribs. But now all Leafs fans hope for is that Connolly can stay away from the injury bug and put up numbers that we saw in 2009/10, where he recorded 65 points in 73 games.
As for me I am happy that the Maple Leaf finally made a splash in this year’s free agency. I was certainly disappointed to see nothing happen on day one in Toronto. But I like this short term deal with a player who is injury prone, but proven veteran.
