Joey Crabb signs on for another year with the Toronto Maple Leafs
The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced today that they have signed forward Joey Crabb to a one year contract. The Leafs originally signed him as a free agent during last year’s free agency. Crabb was drafted back in 2002 by the New York Rangers 226 overall.
Crabb, who is 28 years old, played 48 games for the Maple Leafs last season and had 15 points to show for it, on three goals and 12 assists. He also played 34 games for the Toronto Marlies, as he recorded 11 goals and 7 helpers. Crabb career NHL totals with the Thrashers and Leafs are at 7 goals and 17 assist for 24 points.
When I watch Crabb I feel that he has a good combo of size with physically play, with average playmaking skills. Along with his outstanding play in and around the net, both on the offensive and defensive sides. Crabb will never be a player that will make an impact on your fantasy teams. But on the 3rd or 4th line on a NHL club Crabb will definitely give a load of energy to his team through his physical play.
