Pittsburgh Penguins Forward Craig Adams Undergoes Appendectomy

According to Shelly Adams of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Penguins forward Craig Adams underwent a “laproscopic appendectomy” on Friday.

Adams, 34, is expected to be ready around the start of training camp, which is 3-4 weeks away.

The center/right winger recorded four goals (two shorthanded) and 15 points in 80 regular season games last year, before recording one point in seven games against the Tampa Bay Lightning in the playoffs.

Adams, who was claimed off waivers from the Chicago Blackhawks in 2009, signed a new two-year deal with the Penguins this summer.
