Toronto Maple Leafs Player Review (Pre-season Edition)

The NHL pre-season is here, and I want to look at where each Toronto Maple Leaf player can help out this season, where do they need to improve and my projections of what numbers they could put up for the 2011/12 season.

Today I will be looking at the remaining Maple Leaf defenseman I have not gone over.

Luke Schenn
1 – Where is he going to help out?
Top 10 in hits last year and has developed a reputation for being one of the premier shut down defenseman in the NHL. His leadership qualities could see Schenn as the captain of the Maple Leafs one day.
2 – Where can he improve?
Schenn doesn’t have great offensive instincts at all when he is in the offensive zone. Getting points in the NHL is not his forte.
3 – My projections!
It would be nice to see Schenn break 20 points, but you will probably see that in all assist.

Mike Komisarek
1 – Where is he going to help out?
Where Schenn is now; Komisarek was a couple years ago.
2 – Where can he improve?
His reach is okay, but his skates are not quick enough, so Komisarek will get beat one on one.
3 – My projections!
Komisarek is worst than Schenn at offensive production

Keith Aulie
1 – Where is he going to help out?
His 6’ 5” physical frame is already lethal on the ice, especially when Aulie has pretty good skating skills compared to other tall hockey players.
2 – Where can he improve?
Long term he could display sufficient two way abilities. Short term Aulie needs to improve his consistency on ice.
3 – My projections!
10 – 20 points with a full season; but don’t use him in your deep fantasy leagues just yet.
