Colorado Avalanche destroy Ottawa Senators in a 7-1 Win

Peter Muller and Semyon Varlamov sat this game out letting Jean-Sebastien Giguere and Joakim Lindstrom have some ice time for the first time this season. The third “A” was warn by Johnson who is the first repeat wearer of the “A” so far. And former Avalanche goaltender, Craig Anderson, was in net for the Senators.

The game started with an early goal by the Senators but was quickly responded by goals from Hejduk and Landeskog ending the first period 2-1 Avs. Lindstrom was able to get in a goal in the second. In the third the Avs got a whopping 4 goals. Duchene, Winnik, Jones and Lindstrom were the scorers for the third.

The Avalanche out shot the Senators a spectacular 39-16. Landeskog got a hit to the head in the 1st by Zachary Smith which Wilson was right there to defend him by laying several punches before Smith finally falls to the ice and the refs stop them. Smith is the only one to receive a penalty on this.

At the end of game 4 of the season, 3 of the 5 game road trip, the Avs are sitting at 3-1-0. O’Reilly leads the team in points at 4 with Hejduk, Landeskog, Duchene, and Wilson all right behind him with 3. Wilson though has the highest +/- of the team at a +3.
