MacArthur and Franson Make Their Season Debuts on Saturday
This Saturday when the Toronto Maple Leafs face the Calgary Flames at the Air Canada Center, forward Clarke MacArthur will make his season debut after being suspended for the start of the season. MacArthur is looking to start off the season strong after signing a 2 year $6.5 million deal. MacArthur had a career season last year, recording 21 goals and 41 assist. We need MacArthur to repeat last year’s performance if the Maple Leafs have any chance of making the performance.
Cody Franson, who will also make his season debut on Saturday, is also looking at starting off the season strong, after being a healthy scratch for the first two games of the season. Franson being traded to the leafs on July 3rd 2011 brought more hype to the team as Brian Burke got the salary deal he wanted, were a team needed to move players because of the pressure of the salary cap. The hype was that Franson is a 6′ 5″ defenseman who can play just as well offensively as his defensive game. Last season Franson improved on his rookie performance by going from 21 to 29 points. This season my hopes of for Franson to break the 30 point mark and record 10 goals, but Ron Wilson needs to play the kid more. Franson’s two way abilities gives you quality on the ice.
