As has been speculated for much of the last week, Vancouver Canucks center Ryan Kesler has been cleared to return to action, and announced after practice Monday that he’d be in the lineup Tuesday.
In addition to being penciled back into the lineup as the team’s No. 2 center – he had Chris Higgins and Cody Hodgson on his wings at practice – he also took his familiar spot alongside Henrik and Daniel Sedin on the team’s No. 1 power-play unit. Alex Burrows, who had been keeping Kesler’s seat warm on the top power-play squad, will likely play on the second unit Tuesday.
Defenceman Chris Tanev was assigned to the AHL’s Chicago Wolves to make room for Kesler.
