Tanev not at Canucks practice

By Nick Greenizan

Following a 4-3 win over Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, errr, I mean the Edmonton Oilers Saturday night, the Vancouver Canucks appeared Monday to be set to make a roster move or two.

Defenceman Chris Tanev, who didn’t play against the Oilers and has been a healthy scratch in two of the last three games, was absent from practice Monday morning, according to numerous Twitter reports like this one from Sportsnet’s Dan Murphy.

Of course, with Kesler set to return any day now, speculation is that Tanev was sent down to the AHL’s Chicago Wolves to make room on the roster. Andrew Alberts has been playing in Tanev’s spot on the blue line, and was paired with Sami Salo at Monday’s practice.

Kesler, meanwhile, was practicing on a line with Cody Hodgson and Chris Higgins.
