Dallas Stars VS Phoenix Coyotes Game Preview
The Dallas Stars fought a war of attrition on the ice against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday only to lose 1 to 0. Dallas was played more aggressive, but Jonathan Quick made key saves that helped the Kings win. Also Jack Johnson scored the only goal for the Los Angeles Kings to give the Kings the win.
Tonight the Stars face the Phoenix Coytoes. The Coyotes have been better than I expected. The team is 3-3-1 through 7 games.Dallas has to rebound with a win tonight after losing to the Los Angeles Kings. Below are a list of Keys to the Game
Key #1 Lehtonen Shows Up
This should not be too difficult. Lehtonen has performed the best among goalies in this division after Los Angeles Kings goalie Jonathan Quick. The Phoenix Coytoes lead the Pacific Division with 20 goals scored. Dallas can win this game if Lehtonen shows up.
Key #2 Outshoot Phoenix
Even though the Coyotes have a division best 20 goals scored they have a division worse 22 goals allowed through 7 games. Dallas can win this game simply by outshooting Phoenix.
Key #3 Maintain Defensive Discipline
Dallas has to continue to play with their blue collar defensive mentality that has helped this team out early in 2011. Outhit opponents, penalty kill well, body check, forecheck, limit opponents shots on goal so the offense can outshoot Phoenix. Glen Gulutzan has done a good job keeping the defense disciplined. It will be interesting to see how Gulutzan motivates his team after a Dallas loss.
Prediction I go Dallas 3 to 1 tonight. Phoenix has struggled with allowing goals. The Coyotes have allowed 3 goals a game. Dallas is due for another win after a brutal loss to the Kings.
