Philadelphia Flyers Player of the Month for October is Claude Giroux
Claude Giroux is my pick for player of the month for the Philadelphia Flyers. Giroux leads the team in goals, seven; second in assists, eight; and first on the team and second in the league in points , 15.
There has been two huge factors that have led to CG’s success in the first month of the season. I think anyone that is fan would have to agree that Mike Richards and Jeff Carter being traded gave Giroux a chance shine playing on the first line. Secondly, the other factor was a player I considered for player of the month and that is Jaromir Jagr, he and Giroux have been clicking since opening night. They play as if they have been teammates for years.
Giroux has had great success on the special teams leading the team in powerplay goals with four and assisting on the Flyers only shorthanded goal this season. Also, Claude leads the team in in game-winning goals with two.
Given the success of Giroux and Jagr, I don’t see any reason why Giroux should slow down any in November.
