San Jose Sharks VS Dallas Stars Game Recap

The San Jose Sharks and the Dallas Stars faced off on Saturday night.  This game would have huge implications in the Pacific division with the Dallas Stars enduring a 4 game losing streak heading into Saturday’s contest.

1st Period Recap

Both teams were aggressive in the first period.  The first penalty was a Niklas Grossman penalty roughly about 4 and a half minutes into the game.  Niklas Grossman got called for holding and that put the Sharks on the power play.  30 seconds later Brent Burns burns the net making Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen look like toast.

San Jose would gain the early lead with a 1 to 0 edge.  Dallas outshot San Jose 14 to 10 in the shots on goal department.

2nd Period Recap

Less than a minute into the second period Brenden Morrow gets called for hooking.  San Jose would score a second power play goal.  This goal would be courtesy of Logan Couture.  San Jose would gain a 2 to 0 lead on the Dallas Stars.

About 4 minutes into the 2nd period a fight ensued.  The result of this fight was 4 players getting ejected.  San Jose would score again putting them up 3 to 0.

San Jose really grabbed control of this game in the 2nd period.  San Jose managed to outshoot Dallas 17 to 8 in shots on goal.

3rd Period Recap

Jamie McGinn scored early in the 3rd period by executing a wrist shot that would put San Jose up 4 to 0.  Mike Ribeiro managed to score on a wrist shot saving face for the Dallas Stars.  Dallas would manage to avoid the shutout because of this.

Game Recap

The Dallas Stars really miss Alex Goligoski.  The PK has declined and now Dallas has lost 5 in a row.  Tonight Dallas faces the Edmonton Oilers.
