Flyers Captain Chris Pronger Will Have Knee Surgery; Out Four Weeks
The Philadelphia Flyers captain Chris Pronger will miss more time as he will have knee surgery.
Progs has been out of the lineup since November 20 with an undisclosed illness and GM Paul Holmgren had stated that he would be back by Friday. Now today Homer tells us that the captain will be out four-weeks for knee surgery.
“We were hopeful that the time missed with a virus that Chris has been fighting would settle things down in his knee but after an examination yesterday, it was decided that the surgery is the way to go at this time. We expect Chris will be back playing in 4 weeks.”
It looks like now the Flyers could be without their captain for the Winter Classic. Also, it is looking more and more like Pronger’s best days are behind him.
