New York Islanders VS Dallas Stars Game Recap
The Dallas Stars were heavy favorites heading into Saturday nights game. Dallas had just managed to win back to back games before hosting the New York Islanders. The New York Islanders has the fewest goals scored in the entire NHL.
Left wing sniper Matt Moulson was the main reason why the Dallas Stars lost on Saturday. Moulson scored 4 goals in the New York Islanders 5 to 4 win over the Dallas Stars.
Moulson had scored only 9 goals prior to Saturday’s contest against the Dallas Stars. Moulson now has 13 goals on the year.
I realize Kari Lehtonen, Alex Goligoski, and Trevor Daley are all injured which makes the goaltending and defense much weaker. Still, there is no excuse to allow someone on the Islanders to score four goals in a single game when their team ranks last in the league in goals scored.
I really hope the Dallas Stars defense plays with a lot more enthusiasm moving forward. Goligoski could return next Saturday against the Los Angeles Kings. The timing could not be any better.
