Penguins Defenseman Deryk Engelland Suspended Three Games For Hit On Marcus Kruger
It was a real blemish on one of the more exciting games to take place in the NHL this season. In the first period of the Blackhawks’ 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday, Deryk Engelland left his feet in a check of young Hawks center Marcus Kruger.
Kruger left the game and missed Wednesday’s game with a concussion. John Scott retaliated immediately, taking an instigator penalty and receiving a game misconduct, which his teammates supported. Engelland was not penalized for the hit.
