Congratulations Buffalo Sabres, you have done it again. You have built up a large lead early in the game, this time by going up against the Washington Capitals 4-0 in the first period. However, this time you have managed to one up yourself, and only allow them to half your lead.

Sabres ended up winning 4-2, and they managed to successfully fail at their normal tatics for losing hockey games. Build up a large lead. Blow it. Rinse. Lather. Repeat.

Congratulations to Brayden McNabb on his first NHL goal tonight, earning the first star of the game in the process.

Thomas Vanek, despite being injured in the game against the Toronto Maple Leafs before Christmas, returned to the ice tonight, and picked up his 20th assist on the season.
