Dallas Stars VS St. Louis Blue Game Recap

By Chris Ransom

Heading into Monday’s game St. Louis had an NHL best 13 wins.  Dallas’s first line scored a point in 5 straight games and was facing Halak instead of Brian Elliott.  Both of these teams had strong penalty killing units along weak power plays heading into the contest.

Dallas went o for 1 on their power play.  The Blues responded with a goal on the power play with an amazing wrist shot by Chris Stewart.  St. Louis outshot Dallas 9 to 5 in shots on goal.

Dallas was gaining momentum as the first period ended.  Mike Ribeiro tied the game at 1 to start the second period.

Later in the second period Richard Bachman got a piece of a puck.  He could not make the whole save.  Adam Cracknell’s shot on goal was like a knuckle puck.  It went into the net really slowly after Bachman failed to get a piece of the puck.

Bachman continued face pressure in the 2nd period after the Blues 2 to 1 lead.  St. Louis outhit Dallas 10 to 1 in the first period.  That physical play eventually wore down Dallas.  St. Louis would score again on the power play.  The Blues would lead 3 to 1 after 2 periods.

Andrew Raycroft filled in for Richard Bachman during the final period.  11 minutes later Perron would score the 4th goal for the Blues which would put the game away.

Dallas would score making it 4 to 2.  Ryder would score a goal making it 4 to 3.  Raycroft had a tremendous late game save.  Dallas pulled their goalie late in the game.  St.  Louis would capitalize on the scoring chance before putting Dallas away with a 5 to 3 home win over the Dallas Stars.
