2012 Starts off with a Punch for the Montreal Canadiens

In the last month of 2011, the Montreal Canadiens made an unexpected move when they fired Head Coach Jacques Martin and hired a non-speaking french coach in Randy Cunneyworth.

The New Year got off with a thump for the Canadiens, but it was not during a game. Today, during a practice, defenseman P.K. Subban and center Tomas Plekanec threw punches at each other. The other Canadiens players sat back and let P.K. and Tomas go at each other for a bi,t before Josh Gorges stepped in to break them up.

Tomas Plekanec Comment:

“It’s nothing personal between me and P.K., it’s about the team and to realize we have to start playing as a team.”

Mathieu Darche and Gorges thought the fight brought a positive energy to the practice after the fact.

Yes their teammates, but fights in practices happen every now and then over the course of a season.
