Ottawa Senators goaltender Craig Anderson made not only the save of the game but possibly the save of the season in Sunday’s 6-4 come from behind win over the Philadelphia Flyers.
With his team trailing 4-2 in the third, Anderson stuffed Brayden Schenn with the paddle of his stick to keep the Sens within striking distance. The Senators would go on to score four goals in the period and earn three points in the home-and-home series with the Flyers.
Ottawa has closed to within two points of the slumping fourth place Flyers. Philly is now 4-5-1 since ending a seven game winning streak back in mid-December. Meanwhile Ottawa is now 5-0-1 in their last six, and 8-1-2 in their last 11.
If the Senators overtake the Flyers in the conference, we can all look back at Anderson’s save as the turning point in Ottawa’s season.
