Kings prepare to face Senators at home

By Nina Falcone

In their final game before the All Star break, the Kings are hosting the Ottawa Senators tonight at the Staples Center. After losing their last two games to Calgary and Colorado, the Kings are looking to avoid a three game losing streak.

However the Kings have an on-fire right winger who is showing Los Angeles just what he’s capable of. Justin Williams, who has earned nine points in the last seven games, is lighting up the ice, as well as providing good leadership for his team. It’ll be interesting to see him face off against the Senators’ Kyle Turris who has also been blowing up his statistics with three goals in his last two games.

The resemblance between the Senators’ record at home (14-9-1) and on the road (13-8-5) could result in some trouble for the Kings who have a 13-11-4 record in Los Angeles. However it’s important to keep in mind the improvement the Kings have made in their last month, especially in power plays, shootouts, and defensive skills.

The Senators are coming off a 2-1 loss to the Ducks in Anaheim.
