Video: Pavel Datsyuk Scores with 5.8 Seconds Remaining to Extend Red Wings Streak

By Steve Palumbo

Pavel Datsyuk scored the game winning goal with 5 seconds left in the third period to stun the Nashville Predators 2-1 and extend the Detroit Red Wings record home win streak to 22.

With time winding down the Red Wings won the face-off back to Nicklas Lidstrom who passed up the boards to Henrik Zetterberg. Zetterberg then gave it to Datsyuk who darted into the Predators zone. The flashy forward, known for his incredible highlight reel goals, got around Nashville defenseman Ryan Suter to get off the historic shot.

His laser beam blew past Nashville netminder Pekka Rinne for the game winner.

Watch Datsyuk do what he does best….score pretty goals.
