Trades Are Like Dominos According To Poile

Well, that’s some news from David Poile.  Seems like Poile has some more changes for the Nashville Predators before February 27th.

Is this preparation for impending relocation of Ryan Suter and/or Shea Weber?  Or is this another step to prove to these players that winning is going to take priority?

Looking at the team and the contracts, there are options.  Pekka Rinne recently signed until 2019 with a $7 million a year cap hit probably won’t be moved any time soon, Martian Erat has a NMC, David Legwand  has a NTC, and Mike Fisher has that convoluted, asterisked  NTC contract.  Outside of them, I think any other player could be fair game at this point.

As Sergei Kostitsyn’s contract comes to an end this season, could the LW be a part of a trade?  With 32 points this season, he could fetch a decent return.  Or maybe someone like RW Patric Hornqvist with 29 points in 55 games.  And don’t forget about the Milwaukee Admirals, there are players that that can be packaged together.

With 9 days until the Trade Deadline officially ends, Poile has plenty of opportunities to follow through on this quote.

Don’t forget, the Predators take on the Dallas Stars tomorrow with the puck dropping at 6pm.

Let’s Go Predators!
