3 on 5 shorthanded goals are extremely rare in hockey. Only 10 of them have occurred since 2006. Pittsburgh’s Matt Cooke added one to the record books on Saturday afternoon.
Cooke’s goal gave the Penguins a 3-2 lead over the Philadelphia Flyers late in the 2nd period. It was an impressive bit of stick work by Cooke to get the puck past Ilya Bryzgalov.
