Nashville Predators made an appearance on the NHLPA 2012 Player Poll. For the second season in a row, they have been named one of the Top Underrated Teams. Last season, they were number 1 and this season have fallen to the number 2 spot. Ahead of them? St. Louis Blues. The Blues are second in the Division, while Preds are third, and in the Conference, the Blues are in 4th and the Preds are in 5th. Not bad competition to have. Also on that list was the Ottawa Senators, Florida Panthers, New York Islanders, and Toronto Maple Leafs. And in my opinion, only one of those teams really deserves to be on that list.
Predators also made an appearance under the “Toughest Player” category. Brian McGrattan was 4th on the list, only beaten out by Milan Lucic, Zdeno Chara, and Shawn Thornton. Also on that list was Matt Carkner and George Parros. Shocking to see McGrattan on that list, he’s only played in 30 games and accrued 61 PIM. He’s in the company of Lucic (109 PIM) and Thornton (122 PIM) but seems to be in good compay with Carkner (29 PIM), Parros (63 PIM), Chara (59 PIM).
Shea Weber was named one of the “Most Difficult Player to Face”. He ranks 6th in a list that includes Pavel Datsyuk, Zdeno Chara, Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Jonathan Toews. Not bad company to be in.
Not a bad round up this year. It’s nice to see the Predators come away regarded so high by fellow players.
Let’s Go Predators
