Jeff Carter Traded to Los Angeles for Jack Johnson

According to Aaron Portzline, who covers the Columbus Blue Jackets for the Columbus Dispatch, Jeff Carter has been traded to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Jack Johnson and a first-round draft pick.

#CBJ have traded C Jeff Carter to #LAKings for D Jack Johnson and a first-round pick,” Portzline reported on Twitter.

Bob McKenzie of TSN confirmed the trade, also via Twitter, adding that it is contingent on Carter passing a physical tomorrow.

This is not the first trade involving the Blue Jackets. Antoine Vermette was traded to the Phoenix Coyotes yesterday in exchange for goalie Curtis McElhenney, a second-round draft pick for 2012 and a conditional fifth-round draft pick for 2013. At this rate, it might not be the last for Columbus before the trade deadline on Feb. 27.
