Buffalo Sabres edge Vancouver Canucks in a slugfest

The Buffalo Sabres defeated the Vancouver Canucks 5-3 at Rogers Arena on Saturday night. Ville Leino had 2 goals for the Sabres. Christian Ehrhoff and Tyler Ennis also scored for Buffalo. Brad Boyes had a goal and an assist and Patrick Kaleta had 2 assists. For the Canucks, David Booth had 2 goals and Zack Kassian, who was acquired from the Sabres with Marc-Andre Gragnani for Alex Sulzer and Cody Hodgson, had a goal and an assist. Roberto Luongo was pulled in the 1st period after allowing 3 goals on 7 shots. Cory Schneider would replace Luongo and he stopped 16 out of 17 shots. Ryan Miller stopped 32 out of 35 shots to help the Sabres win. Hodgson would receiver a ovation when it was announced that he would start the game and also the 1st few times he touched the puck. The Sabres snapped a 6 game losing streak in Vancouver. The last time they won in Vancouver was Feb. 28, 1999. The Canucks will now host the Dallas Stars on Tuesday night.
