Brian Burke and the Toronto Maple Leafs would be lying if they said they were not interested in 27 year-old Zach Parise. American born and native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Parise has all the tools of a franchise player and a leader on and off the ice.
The connection between the Brian Burke and Parise is quite simple; Burke loves American born players. Though this is something that I am sure it is not the first time you have read about Burke’s interest in getting Parise in blue and white.
But I am here to say that the 2012 free agency looks a little bit dimmer for the Toronto Maple Leafs this summer, as Parise who is set to become an UFA this off-season. Has told some friends that he is not interested in signing with Toronto this coming summer. According to Steven Simmons of the Toronto Sun, Parise playing for the Maple Leafs has no shot at happening.
Zach Parise has told some friends he wouldn’t consider Toronto in free agency this coming summer, which is interesting considering that his general manager Lou Lamoriello told me: “He’s a Devil. He’s not going anywhere.”
Parise, who has spent his entire 7 year NHL career with the Devils, has put up 28 goals and 34 assist this season. But throughout Parise’s seven seasons in New Jersey, he has recorded 191 (G), 212 (A), for 403 (PTS) in 490 games played.
Parise will not be the only sought after free agent this summer, Alexander Semin of the Washington Capitals will surely get a high annual salary come July 1st.
