VIDEO: Erik Karlsson scores on own net
During a 3-1 win for the Toronto Maple Leafs over the Ottawa Senators. A game in which resulted in a 3-3 series tie in the battle of Ontario for the 2011/12 season. A young Swede named Erik Karlsson did something he would never forget.
Karlsson, who currently sits 7th in the league in points (71). Yes, I said in 7th place overall, while having a 24 point lead on the next best defenseman, Brian Campbell who current sits with 47 points. But even with Karlsson’s spectacular offensive play this season, this Swede has been on the ends of a few fluke goals.
Yesterday Karlsson unintentionally shot a puck of Ben Bishop’s leg, which in the end landed in the net.
Now this isn’t the first time Karlsson has scored on his own net this season. On January 21st during a game against the Anaheim Ducks, Karlsson incidentally batted the puck off of goalie Craig Anderson and scored on his own net.
Looking ahead the Maple Leafs finish off their five game road trip in Boston to face the Bruins. Before the buds head back to the Air Canada Centre to face the New York Islanders.
