Video: Jason Spezza uncorks the greatest assist in Ottawa Senators history
After he had served his second tripping penalty in just over two minutes, and felt the requisite shame, Spezza came out like gangbusters and made a play for the ages as he dangled his way through the Jets zone only to dish the puck to Kyle Turris for an easy tap-in goal.
The amazing play put Ottawa up 3-2 in the game, but the lead was about a short lived as it gets as the Jets won the ensuing faceoff, skated down the ice and tied the game just 20 short seconds later.
Trying to describe what Spezza did with the written word would be a fool’s errand, so I encourage you to watch one of the greatest plays of this season.
