Chris Higgins, Cory Schneider help Vancouver Canucks sweep season series against the Colorado Avalanche

The Vancouver Canucks have swept the season series against the Colorado Avalanche by defeating them 1-0 tonight. A big reason why that happened was because Cory Schneider made 43 saves on 43 shots and Chris Higgins scored a short-handed goal which turns out to be the only goal in the game. Higgins had 2 goals and scored the overtime game winner against the Avs in Colorado. The Canucks have won 2 straight 1-0 games since they beat the Los Angeles Kings 1-0 on Monday when Roberto Luongo was starting in net. Schneider is 11-1-1 since Christmas and got his 3rd shutout tonight. Semyon Varlamov made 21 saves on 22 shots. The Avs have lost 3 straight while the Canucks have won 4 straight. The Canucks will host the Dallas Stars on Friday.
