Philadelphia Flyers Playoff Schedule; Plus a Playoff Beard for Charity

After having a meaningless game yesterday against the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Philadelphia Flyers will start their campaign for Lord Stanley’s Cup.

Philadelphia will start their quest on Wednesday against the those same Penguins.  In what is being looked at as possibly the best first round match let’s look at the schedule.

April 11 7:30 p.m. in Pittsburgh–NBC Sports Network

April 13 7:30 p.m. in Pittsburgh–NBC Sports Network

April 15 3 p.m. in Philadelphia–NBC

April 18 7:30 p.m. in Philadelphia–NBC Sports Network

*April 20 7:30 p.m. in Pittsburgh–NBC Sports Network

*April 22 to be determined in Philadelphia

*April 24 to be determined in Pittsburgh

(* denotes if necessary)

Also check out the rest of the Conference Quarterfinals schedule here.

Lots of eyes will be on this series as two in-state rivals do battle in a series that could easily go all seven games.  Several subplots will be important to this series.  Will Ilya Bryzgalov finally give the Flyers a franchise goalie, who will help them lift the Stanley Cup again?  Will Nicklas Grossmann and Danny Briere be back and will they be effective?  With the top two offenses in hockey meeting, which defense will be able to stand tall?  This is just a few of the scenarios to look at.

I am currently growing a playoff beard for the duration of the Flyers run in the playoffs.  I am doing this for charity and I would appreciate any donations you could make.

Click here and it will take you to the Beard-A-Thon website where you can donate to my beard.  All donations go to Philadelphia Flyers Charities.  Our goal for the Playoffs is $500, but I know you guys can do better than that.

My profile will be updated with my pictures of my glorious facial follicle growth.  Again, whatever you can donate will be greatly appreciated.
