45-year Anniversary Since Last Toronto Maple Leafs Stanley Cup Win

May 2th, 1967 was the last time the Toronto Maple Leafs won the holy grail of hockey, the Stanley Cup and today is the team’s 45-year anniversary since the last time they won the cup. As the Toronto Maple Leafs do hold the longest cup drought in the NHL, since the Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup won in 2009/10.

This year was the seventh time Leafs won’t enjoy the opportunity to see their blue and white on the ice during the playoffs. But their suffering will have to be eased by their farm club the Toronto Marlies, who swept the Rochester Americans in the first round. During the 2nd round of action the Marlies are tied 1-1 with the Abbotsford Heat in their 7-game series.

Going back to 1967 when the Toronto Maple Leafs last won their Stanley Cup. The blue and white beat the Montreal Canadiens in six games and I am sure at that point in time in Toronto, the people of Toronto would of never thought we would be cup less for the next 45-years.

The more important question is…
When will the City of Toronto experience their next parade in down town Toronto?

Well I do not expect the Toronto Raptors will be contending for a championship, let alone a playoff spot any time soon.

The Toronto Blue Jays, in my opinion are our best hope for a championship right now, as well as to see some playoff games. The Blue Jays currently sit with a 15-11 record and 3rd in the American League East. They have a good young team, a couple current and future all-stars on the horizon; basically a team that can get Toronto excited.

Now onto the Toronto Maple Leafs; you know there some great pieces we have on our team, core pieces that are and will continue to become better. It is just a matter of time before the Maple Leafs do make the playoffs. As we were so close this season before I epic fallout which started at the start of February.

What is your take on the three major sporting teams in Toronto?
