The Boston Bruins aren’t too heavy on Twitter representation. I remember a very, very brief period in which Brad Marchand had a Twitter, but he left abruptly. Tyler Seguin seems to be the most active current Boston Bruin on there, although some Providence Bruins are into Twitter as well. Torey Krug is becoming more active, too.
But now another Bruin has joined the tweeting ranks: Andrew Ference.
It looks like he’s pretty new to this. His first tweet was yesterday
and since then he’s tweeted mostly about a new tattoo he is getting at a shop in Cambridge. It’s another Haida eagle, this one on the middle of his back, perhaps to match the two flanking his shoulder blades. In one of his tweets, he said he was under the needle for seven and a half hours–but that he actually quite enjoys going in for work.
His following list right now is short, too, but it accurately reflects his personality. He’s following comedians (Ricky Gervais, Daniel Tosh, Zach Galifianakis), his teammate Seguin, Ken Casey from the Dropkick Murphys (big Bruins supporters), a few European soccer players, plus a lot of green-focused accounts. He’s even watching the account for Beyond the Puck, the National Geographic (oh, he’s following them too) series about his life off the ice. Then there are a bunch of accounts for the nutrition companies he likes, the Boston-area brewery that made a special Ferknuckle brew for him to pour into the Stanley Cup last summer and the company that makes his souped-up electric car.
Who knows, maybe this will encourage even more Bruins to follow his lead.
