Given that the team resides in Los Angeles, there are no shortage of celebrities out there who are, or at least claim to be, fans of the Los Angeles Kings. They’re certainly a happy bunch as the Kings captured their first Stanley Cup title in the history of their franchise on Monday night.
However, few of those fans are as excited as Twitter star, Wil Wheaton, formerly of Star Trek: The Next Generation and the film Stand By Me, as well as his multiple guest appearances on The Big Bang Theory.
Though he wasn’t at the game like many of the stars that were flashed on the broadcast, the former Wesley Crusher did give us a glimpse of the celebration that did take place in front of his television when the clock ticked down to zero, showing a 6-1 Kings victory over the New Jersey Devils.
The video features the countdown in the game’s final seconds, followed by Wheaton running around his house in pure elation. The highlight of the video, though, has to be the kazoo that chimes in after Wheaton begins sprinting around the house, to the tune of The Final Countdown, an interesting choice considering the game was already over. Nonetheless, it’s still a kazoo.
You can’t help but love a guy like Wil Wheaton. He’s been with this team through it all, as a well known diehard of the Kings franchise. Like many, his faith in the franchise was finally vindicated on Monday night. If you’re not already following him on Twitter, fix your mistake by giving him a follow @wilw.
