Brent spent only one season with the Penguins before being traded to the Chicago Blackhawks for Danny Richmond. While with Pittsburgh, he spent all but one game playing for their AHL affiliate in Wilkes-Barre Scranton. He led the AHL team in assists (43) and points (61) in 74 games and helped the baby Pens advance through the Calder Cup Finals before losing to Chicago in six games.
Brent currenty plays for the Carolina Hurricanes signing a two-year contract with them in July 2011.
Dixon was drafted by Pittsburgh in the seventh-round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft (229th overall) and played all 80 games with the AHL affiliate, the WBS Baby Penguins, for two seasons (2005-06, 2006-07) before he was traded to Anaheim for Brent.
